During this extraordinary time, Asa Restaurants have been able to continue our goal of serving our community and our staff by keeping our restaurants open. Over the past several months the Asa staff has stayed strong and supportive as we have had to pivot our business to meet the needs of our guests in the most responsible and creative way possible.
We remain committed to the communities that support us and want to be transparent in how we operate. Unfortunately, yesterday we were notified that one of our Restaurant Asa staff members in Los Gatos tested positive for COVID-19. Through contact tracing, we learned that the exposure was outside of the workplace.
With the health and safety of everyone in mind, we have decided to take the most cautious approach and temporarily close both restaurants. All team members are being tested, even those with very limited or no exposure to this individual before we reopen our doors to the public. Testing is a preemptive measure, as no employee at either location has exhibited COVID symptoms or worked while feeling ill. We all need to be a part of the solution even when financially, this creates a hardship for the businesses and our employees, and an inconvenience for those who planned to visit us over the next few days.
We take the current situation very seriously and will continue to follow the recommendations of the CDC and local health authorities, while diligently enforcing our more stringent standards and protocols. We are confident in the safety measures we have taken since the beginning of the pandemic and SIP order and expect to resume business as soon as testing is complete.
The health and safety of our guests and staff are our highest priority and we absolutely believe this is the right thing to do. We thank you for your support and patience during this time. We will post updates on our planned reopening in the coming days.
