2008 Bernard Levet Cote Rotie "Les Journeries," Northern Rhone

If you like fruit-forward wines, this might not be for you.  If you like badass Northern Rhone Syrah, this has it in spades.  Dominant flavors and aromas include: black pepper, white pepper, bacon, grilled bay leaf, soy sauce, rosemary, smoke, graphite, black tea, hoisin, dried violets, and if you look long and hard enough, a touch of blueberry...that's been marinating in teriyaki.
